Alif Cafe

Alif Cafe was a six month pop-up on experiential dining at Expo Dubai. As farm2table’s first project, this two floor restaurant had a Grab&Go aspect and an All Day Dining with an a la carte menu. We sourced as sustainably and organically as possible with prioritising local farms and smaller regional businesses to help put a focus on carbon footprint reduction. We held numerous educational events and Chefs Tables during this project and were invited to be apart of the “World Majilis” to discuss food waste, sustainability and promoting the sourcing of high quality local goods. We are proud to have been apart of Expo Dubai 2020 and Thank HE Reem Al Hashimi for personally supporting the creation of our brand. We are a proud “Born in Expo” brand and will continue to showcase local talent with always keeping agriculture, sustainability and this countries beautiful heritage at heart.

farm2table x The Knot

We had the honour of teaming up with The Knot, an Emerati lead start-up that strives to deliver authentic social and cultural experiences. They focus on heritage and showing the fresh new face of this country while discussing the stories of the past, present and future of this glorious country. They started an initiative called “Mezraat Arab” showcasing Heritage farms owned by Emeratis. For their first kick start we joined forces for an educational tour around The Organic Farm in Sweihan and a discussion about sustainability and the issues when farming in the desert. The group involved was from NYUAD (New York University Abu Dhabi), they were all apart of their own Green Week push which brought for a meaningful afternoon at the farm.

We partnered up with award winning 21grams for their special SOCIAL CLUB // LOCAL 21 for an exclusive one night iftar. 21grams is a family-style, homegrown, neighbourhood bistro that brings you honest yet daring Balkan soul food, inspired by a wonderful melting pot of cultures that truly is the Balkan Peninsula. With many awards, the latest being “Best European Restaurant” from TimeOut Dubai, their essence and passion coincided with ours. Together we created a bespoke 8-course set menu using only local, organic produce for a soulful Iftar dining experience that honors Balkan and Emirati roots while bringing in the flavours that celebrate local community and farmers in an intimate and cozy setting. The produce was proudly supported by The Organic Farm.
